After another wave of bomb threats at Jewish community centers around the country Monday, Madison faith leaders say these acts, and all other acts of hate, need to be condemned, and quickly. “If people don’t come out and comment on these publicly, I think it’s going to grow.” – Masood Akhtar

Madison faith leaders show support and solidarity with Jewish community after threats

After a serious uptick in threats and hate speech against the Jewish community in our nation, faith leaders in Madison spoke out against these acts in support and solidarity.  Masood Akhtar of Madison Muslim Community and Phil Haslanger of Memorial United Church of Christ in Fitchburg each delivered letters to rabbis and other leaders in the Jewish community expressing the support and love of their own respective groups.

Most Americans favor deporting arrested illegal immigrants according to poll

A survey from Harvard–Harris Poll provided exclusively to The Hill found that 80 percent of voters say local authorities should have to comply with the law by reporting to federal agents the illegal immigrants they come into contact with.
